Just writing to see if anyone has had any experience with the student
level horns from Glenn Edward. They look and sound pretty nice, just
wanted to know if I need to be prepared for anything.

Haven't they gone out of business? I liked the clarinets pretty well, but the keys were too soft and the chimneys came unglued sometimes, just a hassle. but they played fair.

If I remember correctly, I think the keys were made of pot metal, though I might be mistaking the "Glenn Edwards" stuff for the "Hunter" instruments. Regardless of the name, I immediately raise the price of repair when I encounter instruments like this. You never quite know what you're getting into with most of the Chinese made instruments. They are improving, however. We'll see what happens in the next few years.

On the glenn edwards clarinets that I have seen so far, they keys are made of nickel-plated brass. Very soft, but you can solder them back together if you have to.
