Hi all,

Are there any other members here from Australia? Or would any of you know of where to source tools and/or repair supplies here in Australia?

I have done a bit of searching but failed to find any suppliers. Surely there is somewhere to source mandrels, hammers, pads, cork etc?

HAMMERS
Are the hammers used in brass dent removal basically identical to those used in jewellery making?

If so, what are the most useful hammers used (weight/type)? Perhaps a jewellery supplies store will meet some of my requirements.

Any further ideas?

Thanks in advance,
Brett Phillips

Hi Brett,

I haven't paid much attention to the hammers that jeweler's used but the one's I have seen resemble ballpeen hammers and are not much good in removing dents.

Here are some good hammers with specs you can use to compare with others.  You'll also want a hammer with a head of delrin or another plastic like this one.
